In order to become a licensed architect in the state of California, one must first complete a Professional Degree in Architecture from an accredited school, which typically takes about five years. After completing the degree, the person must then pass two exams administered by the California Architectural Board. The first exam, the California Architects Examination, is a multiple-choice exam that tests for basic knowledge of the profession. The second exam, the California Supplemental Examination, is an essay exam that tests for more advanced knowledge of the profession.<\/p>\n
